How can there be Evil if God exists

  • Why does it exist?
  • Who is allowing this Evil?
  • What good if anything can come of it?

 One thing for sure is that evil Exists, in all of human history Evil has been on full display No one has ever escaped it , No one ever will, Everyone will at some point in their lives experience this force and its affect on the human race and its eternal affect it will have on our immortal souls. Yes every soul God creates  is Immortal in that he creates it for all eternity .

If one doesn’t understand why a Loving God would allow one to burn eternally, you must first understand that when you sin against a Holy God he is an eternal God, thus all punishment and Heavenly rewards [Salvation] must also be for all eternity . Once you get that point you will understand why it is for ever and ever and forever.

We are either Eternally lost or Eternally saved, The soul goes on to an eternal destination, Heaven or Hell , in the very same state we die in , which is either Lost [eternally dammed] or Saved[eternally secured by the Grace of God once we submit to the Father of creation of Heaven and Hell, and his imputed righteousness is then bestowed on us , washed from our sins Redeemed by his blood sacrifice at Calvary, trusting in his finished plan of redemption.

Evil has touched our very  lives from the moment we are conceived, and will continue to do so, although the way from cradle to grave , it cannot be helped, it cannot be avoided, and it will not go unpunished, as God has a purpose and place for Evil to exist, although we cannot fully understand it, since we do not go to the scriptures for clarification as the Bible writers, have guided us to go to , if we do not understand its because we choose to remain ignorant .

Now that we have established this ungodly demonic force and its ability to wreak havoc on earths populations, it brings us to the next facts.

If Evil exists [and it does] and God exists [and he does], how and why would a Holy God allow or permit, this Evil? Surely he has the power to wipe it out , Surely he can destroy this Satanic force from ever afflicting such destruction, so why does he allow it and at the same time be a Holy God. To understand this fully we must approach it from a biblical perspective as all such topics and questions must be answered and explained from the scriptures.

In a brief summary I will attempt to put this in a perspective from the Bible , Gods word, the King James Bible  text, as a superior Text from all others, by Rightly Dividing the Word of Truth.

Ponder these Attributes , if there was no Evil there would be no way for God to display his Attributes,  some of his attributes are as follows.

  1. His Mercy
  2. His Grace
  3. His Forgiveness
  4. His Salvation
  5. His Patience
  6. His Love
  7. His Wrath
  8. His Righteousness
  9. His Sanctification
  10. His Redemption
  11. His Power
  12. His Discernment
  13. His Creational Power
  14. His Loving Kindness
  15. His Righteous Judgment
  16. His Righteous Anger

And Finally His Full Glory.

Yes all these attributes of God are on Full display, when any of the Attributes of Evil are present in anyone of us or for that matter, anywhere in the World, there is an opportunity for God to impute any of His attributes as the only One and True Living God.

  1. His Love is on full display when sin is forgiven
  2. His Wrath is on full display when that sin is not forgiven
  3. A Holy God is on display when his Patience allows the sinner to call on his name, as Christ awaits with Holy patience.
  4. His Holy nature, knows no bounds as his Richness and Goodness, are on Full display declaring a Loving and Caring God for his creation, in that His will is that none should perish not one, but that all come unto him for Salvation. This is a Caring, Thoughtful, Purposeful, Loving and Just God.

If there was no Evil {sin}

There would be no Display of any of his Attributes

If there were no Evil , There would be no display of his Mercy.

No Mercy = No Forgiveness

No Forgiveness = No Salvation

No Salvation= No Glory

There would be no way to Glorify the Loving creator without Evil in this world

Although Sin entered in and through Adams disobedience and death followed as a result, Gods Infinite wisdom and eternal planning for man, resulted in his Ultimate Salvation, By the death of Jesus Christ the perfect one time sacrifice.

The Whole reason God ordained [permits, allows, Evil] is for his Glorys sake for His will and pleasure.

Why?  so that every angel and all creation ever created, can see him and acknowledge him in His Full Power , Full Glory forever and forever and forever.

By his attributes on full display, His Holiness is on full display.

Now let us see what the Scriptures say regarding Evil existing at the same time of a Holy and Just God, and if that condition discredits any of the attributes of God.

I Can assure you it will not

Just a few scriptures to demonstrate his will and purpose

  1. 2 Kings 17:25  And so it was at the beginning of their dwelling there, that they feared not the LORD: therefore the LORD sent lions among them, which slew some of them. 
  2. 2 Samuel  10:12  Be of good courage, and let us play the men for our people, and for the cities of our God: and the LORD do that which seemeth him good. 
  3. Psalm 115:3  But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

4. Psalm 33:6  By the word of the LORD were the heavens made; and all the host of them by the breath of his mouth. 

5.Pslam 33:7  He gathereth the waters of the sea together as an heap: he layeth up the depth in storehouses. 

6.Psalm 33:8  Let all the earth fear the LORD: let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of him. 

7.Psalm 33:9  For he spake, and it was done; he commanded, and it stood fast. 

8.Psalm 33:10  The LORD bringeth the counsel of the heathen to nought: he maketh the devices of the people of none effect. 

9.Proverbs  16:4  The LORD hath made all things for himself: yea, even the wicked for the day of evil. 

10,Deuteronomy 32:39  See now that I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me: I kill, and I make alive; I wound, and I heal: neither is there any that can deliver out of my hand.

11. Exodus 4:11  And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man’s mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD? 

12 Rev 4:11  Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honor and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

 These are but a few of the verses that prove that God ordains everything even Evil.

Nothing exists that he does not ordain nor permit, for his Glory, as it pertains to his permissiveness will. Evil then has a purpose it demonstrates his attributes.

There it is, proof positive Evil has a purposeful place in this world but one should never forget, it will be destroyed, at the final coming of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
