Before I begin This Author has always approached all Bible topics as defined by comparing scripture with scripture as we are commanded to do, and so the word Trinity will not be used, to describe The Holy Spirit, but rather biblical term, Godhead, as correctly used in the King James Bible.
A topic of importance that this author will soon be adding to this website
Prepared and Researched by, Sam Martino KJB Bible Defender and Believer.
ARE THEY THE SAME, WHY DOES THE KING JAMES BIBLE USE 2 TERMS WHEN NEW AGE BIBLE PERVERSIONS DO NOT, IN ORDER TO UNDERSTAND, WE WILL NEED TO DO A DEEP DIVE INTO THE SCRIPTURES. WHEN WE USE THE TERM SCRIPTURES ON THIS SITE, IT WILL ALWAYS MEAN THE KING JAMES BIBLE GODS WORDS [NOT HIS THOUGHTS OR MESSAGES, BUT HIS ACTUAL WORDS.
FIRST LETS ESTABLISH SOME FACTS AS EVIDENCE, AS I AM NOT ABOUT CONJECTURE BUT FACTS
Facts are Truths, established by clear evidence, supporting the facts, as in a court of Law
First off the terms are different, things that are not spelled the same are not the same so we will go on that principal as a basis in our KJB. Holy Spirit- is used 7 times in the scriptures and Holy Ghost some 90 times, so right out of the gate, there is a great difference. Using a KJB Word Search Engine, quickly provides the evidence.
Holy Ghost?- Best described as the attribute of Force, Same Holy Spirit
The Holy Ghost is a personage [ Personality] if you will … of spirit who bears witness to the Father and the Son and is responsible for guiding, sanctifying, and teaching us. He is also known as the Holy Spirit. He operates under the direction of the Father and the Son When we receive the Holy Ghost, we receive power to overcome temptations and to do good works. We are also promised that the Spirit will be with us always.
Holy Spirit? Best described as Evidence of that Force Same Holy Spirit
Holy Spirit. He is co-equal with the Father and the Son. Holy Spirit is a divine who reveals, sanctifies, and guides the Church. He also bestows spiritual gifts and comforts believers and convicts of sin. Holy Spirit was active in creation and restoration. In the Scriptures, he was manifested as wind, fire, and a dove. Holy Spirit descended upon Jesus at his baptism and anointed him for his ministry. Holy Spirit empowers believers for service and fills them with joy. He also gives them wisdom, knowledge, and understanding.
Holy Spirit intercedes for believers and prays for them according to God’s will. Holy Spirit sanctifies believers and makes them into temples of the Holy Spirit. He also Seals them until the day of redemption. Holy Spirit gives gifts to believers to equip them for ministry, as in Galatians 9 and other places . These gifts are given for the common good of the Body of Christ. Holy Spirit is our helper, comforter, guide, and counselor.
Difference between them, can be best understood by distinguishing, the Attributes [Plural] a person has more than one attribute but still 1 person. God has many attributes but is only 1 God , so are the functions of the Spirit of God 1 spirit, more than one attribute, or working force abilities, Indwelling and Power Executed, thus the terms, Holy Ghost-Holy Spirit.
The terms Holy Ghost and Holy Spirit are often used interchangeably, but there is a subtle difference between the two. The Holy Spirit is a divine presence that is active in the world, whereas the Holy Ghost is more of a supernatural force. Both are considered to be part of the Godhead but the Holy Spirit is generally considered to be more closely associated with God the Father, while the Holy Ghost is more closely associated with Jesus Christ.
In terms of their functions, It could be said better that the Holy Spirit helps to guide and protect believers, while the Holy Ghost is more of a powerful force that can be invoked for miracles and other supernatural acts. Ultimately, both attributes of the Same Holy Spirit are considered to be expressions of the one God, and both attributes play an important role..
Conclusion
The Holy Ghost and the Holy Spirit are one and the same, but actually express different entities or attributes . The Holy Ghost is a spirit that dwells in all Saved True believers, the Holy Spirit was sent to to guide and empower Saved True Believers Understanding these distinctions can help you better understand the Holy Spirits functions.
The shear fact that , 90 times Holy Ghost is used, and Not Holy Spirit, is in and of itself proof positive that the attribute of the Power of the Spirit is in being established & declared, rather than the indwelling, yet both attributes are crucial and both are present.
When the plain sense of Scripture makes sense, Seek no other sense.
