David was an imperfect man but nevertheless anointed by God for a very special reason as others were throughout the Bible. David is said to have laid the Foundations for Jesus Christ, whom God would use as Jesus is the only sinless one who took on Human flesh to save and rule all Humanity.
This is but a brief description of some highlights, concerning King David.
King David was called a man after Gods own heart. That does not mean that his wicked deeds were not condemned by God. Tragically, David coveted Uriahs wife Bath-Sheba, committed adultery with her, and then impregnated her , then murdered her husband. What a wicked King. David did all these horrible things, yet he will be used by God for sure, in spite of his fallen condition. What happens next is Davids life is ruined, because of these great sins. HIs reputation is ruined, he loses his friends, and family members. He lost his Throne for a period of time and his son Absalom first son from Bath-Sheba, who was executed. Yep David suffered greatly. David did not get away with his sins he paid dearly for all that he did ..sinned against God. Psalm 51:3,4,12, records King Davids crying prayer for forgiveness. the entiore 51st and 52nd Psalm records this truth. Many Pastors and Bible teachers attempt to use this Kings sin condition, to provide to lost sinners that even in the worse sins one commits God is faithful to forgive, and that is true when you first come to him and repent of your sins. But be very careful, it is not possible for anyone to be saved and commit such horrible sins after being saved. There is not one verse in all the Bible, read it. Yes King David did all these sins but the Bible never says he was in a Saved condition at the time. This is what David actually prayed, it his prayer of Repentance, then God restored His meaning thy Salvation not Davids but Gods.
David praying, For I acknowledge my transgressions and my sin is ever before me. Against Thee, Thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in Thy sight That thou mighte be justified when Thou speakest, and be clear when Thou judegest.. Here we go…….. Restore unto me the JOY of Thy Salvation and uphold me with Thy free Spirit. Now Notice first that it is Gods Salvation that he being restored, not King David!!
Salvation belongs to God and none of us, including King David That is his department not ours.
Remember this No Believer has permission to sin. Look at these men. Noah got drunk, Samson and sex with a prostitute, Abraham and Sara doubted God, Laughing at his promise to give them children in their old age. Jerimiah quit preaching at one point, Isaiah had unclean lip, Jonah fled from God. And Peter cursed the name of Jesus and denied him and the Apostle Paul said he struggled with sin continuously These are just a few of dozens in the Bible where , God chose sinful men. but once they were saved, they repented. You see .. Many were called Many were chosen for a purpose, all 12 Apostles there were not Saved not one in the bunch as Jesus said Ye have not chosen me but I have chosen you. Yes one can be chosen and called but that does not mean they were in a state of Grace or Salvation, a great truth would be all 12, they performed miracles and had the power of the Holy Ghost, but until they witnessed the resurrection and believed, they were not in a state of Salvation.
